Description

4Deep Inwater Imaging Inc. is a Halifax based company that has marketed a great invention from two formerDalhousie physicists, that of a holographic imaging device. This device is an effective 3D microscope that issubmersible in the oceans to great depth where it can take microscopic pictures of water samples. The analysisof the resulting 3D images is very labour intensive, and we are proposing here an artificial intelligence systembased on deep neural networks that can localize and classify specific specimens in the water sample. Such anautomation would allow a much wider deployment of the 4Deep technology and hence a much wider customerbase.
