Description

The development of an integrated network of Canadian pediatric sleep researchers will allow us to meet the present study's objectives as well as lay the foundation for future research collaborations, making Canada a leader in the field of pediatric sleep. Our training initiative will ensure that this network is sustainable over time by training the upcoming generation of pediatric sleep researchers. We will focus our current research efforts on the treatment of behavioural insomnia in children ages 1 to 12 years. Behavioural Insomnia is highly prevalent and chronic, and affects the psychosocial health of the child and his/her family. Our study will result in evidence-based interventions with known effects on children's and family's well-being. These interventions will be disseminated to health care professionals to use in their clinical practice, filling a significant void in the health care of children.
