Description
Infectious diseases present a tremendous threat to human society because they kill *more than 10 million people each year. To understand and contain infectious disease *epidemics, we need to model the evolution and the spread of infectious pathogens *through time. My research program aims to utilize stochastic modeling for this *important task. In particular, I will investigate theory and methods for studying *evolutionary and epidemiological processes using stochastic models and build software *for analyzing infectious disease epidemics.*
