Project Details

Description

This training grant is directed towards dental students, dentists studying to be specialists and PhD students in the field of Oral Health Sciences. There are three phases, Phase I provides 2 consecutive summers of research experience for dental students, Phase II provides support for Dental Specialty students while they pursue a PhD in Oral Health Research. Phase III provides support for PhD students to go on National or International research exchanges to carry out complementary research using different approaches than those being used in the home project. This program begins at the early formative stages when students are making important career decisions and will pair up outstanding mentors with talented students. The objective is to provide a continuum in research training to inspire, attract and retain dentists in academic careers. CaNTOHR will address unique trainee groups and will complement existing PhD training grants at McGill and University of Toronto
