Description
The Foundation's Change Leadership Program was designed to support the applicant solicitation and selection, launch, and first year of participant activities for the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation's four new Leadership for Better Health programs.Further, the Foundation's Culture of Health Leaders program will develop a large cadre of leaders from diverse sectors to work with organizations, communities, health systems, and policymakers to build a Culture of Health in America. This grant supports the participant's engagement in the Culture of Health Leaders program (the 'program'). Over the course of the three-year program, the participant will complete a leadership development curriculum, as well as individual and collaborative projects, that support the cultural shifts at the local, state, and national levels necessary for all people to have the opportunity to achieve their best possible health and well-being. During the program, the participant is expected to spend 32 to 38 hours per month on program-related activities, which will include, but are not limited to, in-person meetings, distance learning, one-on-one development opportunities, reflective practice, peer-to-peer learning, small-group projects, and large-group experiences that focus on 'learning by doing.' Grant funds will support the participant's successful completion of the program as determined jointly by the grantee and participant. Examples of permissible purposes include defraying salary/release time, living expenses, consultant fees, registration fees for relevant conferences/workshops, travel, supplies, and executive education. Grant funds may not be used: (1) to subsidize an individual's health care; (2) to support clinical trials of unapproved drugs or devices; (3) to construct or renovate facilities; (4) for lobbying or political activities; or (5) as a substitute for funds currently being used to support similar activities.
