Project Details

Description

The purpose of this project is to develop new measures of health literacy for school children in Canada. Using these measures it will be possible to assess the effect of health curricula on school children and their future health. It will also be possible to determine whether or not schools are improving in their ability to teach skills needed to promote health and navigate the health system as well as to identify areas for improvement. This in turn should result in more informed and healthier school children as well as future adults equipped to make better decisions about their health and actions needed to improve and maintain it.
