Description
We aim to determine how enzymes evolve to efficiently accelerate reactions. Our studies of enzymes over evolutionary time will show the specific mechanisms by which these catalysts develop. This will facilitate efforts to engineer novel industrial biocatalysts of useful and challenging chemical reactions.
