Description

This grant supports a global network of researchers, policymakers, and community-based practitioners who are working to ensure that social health is integrated into equitable and healthy community efforts. The network, which will drive learning and leadership, will be comprised of six existing catalyst circles, including: a national policy committee; a global coalition on social isolation and loneliness; a scientific advisory council; an innovation hub; a local leaders' learning network; and a network of philanthropic leaders. Although many researchers and practitioners across the United States and the globe are addressing social isolation, silos exist among research, policy, and practice with social health often being portrayed as an individual rather than a community issue. This initiative aligns with the Culture of Health vision to improve health, equity, and well-being. It will help reframe social isolation and address its root causes for sustainable change. A collaboration of six catalyst circles will be supported, which it is hoped will result in a more holistic and unprecedented approach.
