Description

To develop a bilingual, multi-disciplinary provincial level research team composed of academic researchers from at least four universities, clinicians, members of provincial government departments; members of NGO's; and members of the New Brunswick Health Council. Recognizing that chronic illness affects many New Brunswickers and that poor management of chronic illness is jeopardizing the sustainability of health care in New Brunswick. An group of stakeholders have been meeting to discuss strategies to 'tackle the issue' systematically, in a province-wide approach. The current application seeks resources necessary to build on this initial effort and create a provincial team focused on developing, implementing, monitoring and evaluating strategies that mitigate the impact of chronic illness, either through prevention or management, in the province of New Brunswick.
