Description

Measuring quality end-of-life care has been identified by both the Senate Committee on End-of-life Care and the Canadian Strategy for Cancer Control as essential to improve and monitor end-of-life in Canada. Quality indicators are tools designed to measure quality of care and thus help enhance quality through identifying areas needing improvement. The overall objective of this pilot study is to assess agreement among stakeholder groups (patients with metastatic breast cancer, family members and health care providers) in two provinces on indicators of quality end-of-life for breast cancer patients.
