Description

The role of the Senior Research Nurse is: o To promote the work of Cancer Research UK and cancer trials awareness amongst health care professionals, patients and the public; o Act as a CR-UK spokesperson on appropriate stories and give interviews to local media (in liaison with press officers); o Provide a "public face" for clinical trials in liaison with local CR-UK fundraisers and press officers; o Engage users in research both for media and promotional activities and to ensure consumer representation on local research agenda; o Act as a liaison and information resource for CR-UK within a designated region to promote the patient focused nature of trials; o Support the national directives for improving recruitment to clinical trials for cancer treatments, prevention and palliative care with the aim of reducing the time taken to obtain results from cancer research projects; In addition, each Senior Research Nurse will have a local remit which meets the requirements of their CR-UK cancer centre.
