Description

The Liverpool Experimental Cancer Medicine Centre plays a big role in the Liverpool Cancer Research UK Centre by leading research programmes in ‘personalised medicine’ – developing treatments based on the genetic makeup of an individual’s cancer; and scientists are developing and testing new drugs for treating the disease. It was set up in 2007 and is one of only 19 such Centres around the United Kingdom. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the Liverpool Cancer Research UK Centre. The Senior Research Nurse will lead a team of oncology research nurses attached to the Liverpool Cancer Research UK Centre, contributing to clinical trials, engaging with service NHS cancer nurses and developing and implementing a coherent Patient and Public Involvement strategy. The Nurse will also act as a spokesperson and information resource, representing the Centre and CR-UK, and raising awareness of cancer clinical trials amongst healthcare professionals, patients, media, and the general public.
