Description

The Foundation's New Jersey Nursing Initiative was designed to address the New Jersey nurse faculty shortage by developing, implementing and evaluating a statewide model for recruitment and retention of nurse faculty. The goal of the New Jersey Nursing Initiative (NJNI) was to develop, implement, and evaluate a statewide model for recruitment and retention of nurse faculty to address the nurse faculty shortage in New Jersey. Although that goal is still active, NJNI has implemented more activities to align with a Culture of Health. This grant funds the NJNI program office over the next year to: (1) support program office personnel and office operations; (2) convene NJ education and practice stakeholders; (3) develop and implement webinars and in-person meetings for their scholars and programs; (4) provide technical assistance and selection for the new schools in the next cohort of their initiative on strengthening nursing schools' curriculums in population health; and (5) collaborate with other RWJF New Jersey grantees.
