Description

The aim of this study is to examine the implementation and effects of using ultrasound measurements of fetal growth to alter treatment in pregnant women with gestational diabetes mellitus on maternal and neonatal outcomes in clinical practice. This will be conducted as a retrospective chart review of patients with gestational diabetes and their babies at the Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital and Mackay Base Hospital. Data will be collected regarding maternal demographics and health status, gestational diabetes diagnosis and management, ultrasound measurements, and maternal and neonatal outcomes. We will use this data to determine how often ultrasound-guided monitoring is used in these patients and to compare maternal and neonatal outcomes between those who had ultrasound-guided management and those who did not.
