Description

This Symposium will mark the 20th year of a unique interdisciplinary primary health research training program called Transdisciplinary Understanding and Training on Research-Primary Heath Care (TUTOR-PHC). This meeting will bring together the current and former trainees of the program, patient-partners, the faculty who deliver the program, and other individuals who are interested in primary health care research. The meeting will have three main parts: 1) presentations by leading experts in primary health care research; 2) interactive sessions where participants will discuss and exchange research results and ideas; and 3) small group discussions to: a) develop information summaries about how best to mobilize the uptake of research findings into policy and health care practice; and b) to create hand-outs that summarize research highlights and success stories that show the impact of primary care research. Our main goal is to help the participants attending the symposium be in a better position to work together as a network of researchers and knowledge users so that research findings can be used to make changes to improve the health care system.
