Elektrokonvulzivni lecba v kombinaci s psychofarmaky

In the submitted review the authors discuss the possible combination of electroconvulsive treatment with lithium, clozapine and new antidepressants from the aspect of safety and prevalence of undesirable effects. They summarize indications of electroconvulsive treatment and confirmed extracellular and intracellular chages in the CNS after electroconvulsion. They deal with data in the literature on combinations of electroconvulsion with the mentioned pharmaceutical preparations. The authors do not refute recommendations for combined treatment but draw attention to the fact that some work indicates the possibility that even some not recommended and new combinations may be safe and useful.
