Abstract

With the addition of ten new chapters, this edition focuses its attention on the causes, and mechanisms, of ocular disease, and is the latest discoveries, research methods, and the current on-going research in ocular disease. It covers all diseases of the eye, evaluating the disease process from multiple perspectives including molecular biology, microbiology, genetics and light microscopy, and presents comprehensive coverage of the latest genetic information, and coverage of all present knowledge in ocular diseases and their cause. There are new chapters on cellular pathology, apoptosis, vasculitis, wound healing, immunological processes in infections, amyloidosis aging, age-related macular degeneration, aging of the lens, genetics diseases of the cornea, retina, lens and glaucoma. All retained chapters are fully revised, and most with major changes to reflect the ongoing developments inocularr disease, with include, 100 multidisciplinary contributions from researchers and clinicians from around the globe.
