Abstract

To the Editor: The quality of health advice to travelers is a public-health concern. A survey of 18 travel agents in a major metropolitan area of Nova Scotia revealed a strict uniformity of the information source. All 14 respondents used the Travel Information Manual of the International Air Travel Association.1 No agent received the Weekly Quarantinable Disease Report of Health and Welfare Canada, and only one received the immunization supplement from the same source. No agent used either Health Information for International Travel (a supplement to the Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report)2 or the Vaccination Certificate Requirements for&.
