Abstract
Spatial reconstruction of the cardiac electric field is becoming an increasingly important research tool in electrocardiology; body-surface potential mapping (BSPM) is now widely used. The authors have maintained an extensive research program in BSPM; a large volume of data was handled with relative ease because the methods of data acquisition, processing and display were highly automated. The BSPM data acquisition system had 128 channels and it was designed around a dedicated Varian V-72 computer.
