Abstract
Evidence is presented to support the validity of the basal cell hamartia hypothesis as an explanation for the histogenesis of jaw cysts (keratocysts) in the basal cell nevus syndrome. Possible implications for surgical management are outlined. The clinical and histological data from 5 patients are presented.
