Description

The purpose of this conference is to advance research in the area of work and health by bringing together an interdisciplinary, multi-regional group of researchers and research users to exchange and foster cutting-edge research. Work-related disorders are major sources of disability in the Canadian population and require strong research and policy action. Examining these issues at a national level is crucial to furthering research and knowledge translation. The primary goals of the bilingual conference are to present research results and innovative research methods, identify and clarify needs, foster collaborations and new research projects, and inform occupational health and safety policies and practices that will result in the improved health and safety of Canadian workers. The proposed conference will be run as a partnership between the Canadian Association for Research on Work and Health (CARWH), a national group of researchers, and the Réseau de recherche en santé et en sécurité du travail du Québec (RRSSTQ), an occupational health and safety network based in Québec. Approximately 200 participants from a range of relevant disciplines across Canada are expected to attend the conference, which will be proceeded by a special student symposium. The proceedings of the conference will be summarized in a report to be distributed to CIHR, conference participants, and through the organizing groups¿ websites.
