Description

Nova Scotia has the oldest population in Canada; with the highest percentage of older adults of any province. As age is the greatest risk factor for developing dementia, it is important that Nova Scotia invests in dementia research to alleviate current and future healthcare and caregiver burden. It is also crucial that Nova Scotia educates the population of the work happening locally to address the needs of older adults living with dementia and their carers. In this symposium, a series of local researchers will present their work on dementia stigma, care, diagnosis, and prevention to give the public a broad overview on the world-class research happening within their province.
