Description

First, this research proposal aims to identify more effective and reliable techniques to determine the sentimentsbeing expressed in social media conversations. Second, the research will develop ways to automate theidentification process of texts that have the potential to be the most influential within social networks. Thisresearch will be conducted in collaboration with Dalhousie's industry partner, Halifax-based MediaBadger andthe Recherche Appliquée en Linguistique Informatique (RALI) group at the Université de Montréal. ThisEngage project will launch a long-term collaborative relationship between these two institutions andMediaBadger that will foster leading edge research in the analysis of social media data.
