Description
The proposed work will be devoted to the understanding of the temporal variability of the carbon cycle in northern and eastern Canadian coastal waters and the adjacent North Atlantic and Arctic Oceans. Particular attention will be paid to the interactions, i.e., to the potentially bidirectional controls between the shelf seas and the North Atlantic and Arctic Oceans. The planned observations on the Scotian Shelf and in the Arctic Ocean will facilitate, under consideration of already existing data, the analysis of temporal variability in these areas, which remains hitherto poorly understood.
