eOLIO Inc., a Nova Scotia based company, is targeting the rapid growth and the widespread usage ofmedia-rich web-based services on the Internet by providing users a "personal branding" service andmanagement platform. eOLIO is an online portfolio creation and personal branding management platform. Theidea behind personal branding is to provide online users with a rich set of options, but give them completefreedom and flexibility in creating their own brand. Such a branding management platform can be used for avariety of applications. By providing the functionality of easy incorporation of media-rich features andintegrating it with social networks, the platform can serve as an excellent tool for recruiters searching forcandidates with specific skill sets.A key challenge to the successful deployment of such a platform is its seamless integration with a variety ofmobile devices. Users must be able to access their personalized eOLIO platform from any mobile device in asecure and reliable manner. Furthermore, the interface must be customized to different mobile devices andmust be integrated with the non-mobile version of the web interface. In addition, device to device portfoliotransfers must be made possible. The primary goal of this project is to design a secure and reliable mobileapplication and an enhanced web interface for the eOLIO platform. The project will innovate, design andimplement an Android-based mobile application that extends the non-mobile version of the eOLIO platform. Itwill also provide a secure interface for users to access the platform from any location. Furthermore, the datatransfer to the eOLIO server will be handled through a secure and reliable communication protocol. The designwill also enable transfer of data between two mobile devices or between one mobile device and a non-mobiledevice running the eOLIO service. This collaborative partnership between eOLIO Inc. and the Dalhousieresearch team will lead to the acceleration of the transfer of new ideas into products on the eOLIO platform.
