Lighting during incubation in combination with sanitation of hatching eggs with antimicrobial proteins

Objective Bacterial control in newly hatched chickens without the use of antibiotics is an important area of research. The objective of this study is to determine the effect of photoperiod during incubation of hatching eggs on early chick health when performed in combination with application of antimicrobial proteins before incubation.
