Description
This event provides an opportunity for representatives from the governmental health, education, and justice sectors to meet with researchers, community organizations, and youth to discuss issues around the role of policy in HIV/HCV primary and secondary prevention among youth in Atlantic Canada. In addition, researchers will present results of a policy scan and seek input from youth groups, community organizations, and governmental representatives to help inform Years 2 and 3 of the research project. These steps will be used to help improve HIV/HCV prevention policies and programs. At this meeting, working groups will be initiated to carry actions forward. This meeting has the potential to improve the health of youth in Atlantic Canada by making health services delivery more effective. By involving knowledge users at an early stage in the research project, we will ensure that the research results are relevant and used to help improve policies for health status of youth populations within existing health delivery systems.
