Description
The purpose of this project is to support a roundtable meeting of mayors from small and midsize cities in the United States to share exemplary global approaches of sustainable and equitable urban development (SEUD) and to support the participation of community-based organizations in SEUD discussions. Although many examples of sustainable development exist, they have not been systematically assessed and there is a dearth of examples where equity is the driving motivation. There is a need to identify and share such practices. This project will leverage the learnings from a prior Foundation-funded project and facilitate their uptake by U.S. practitioners and decisionmakers. Deliverables include a roundtable meeting; media and other communications; partnership development; an assessment framework; and scholarships for U.S. participants to attend the annual International Conference on Urban Health.
