Description
Under this grant, the American Academy of Nursing will conduct a workshop for interested Academy members on November 1, 2018, in Washington. The Academy Edge Runners: Catalysts for Change Innovation Summit will encourage the identification of specific strategies its members who are designated as Edge Runners, or aspire to that status, may undertake to strengthen the health of communities and population groups as outlined in Robert Wood Johnson Foundation's Catalysts for Change report on population-focused nursing. The Academy recognizes members as Edge Runners who have established essential data needed to determine clinical and financial outcomes in nurse-designed models of care. Criteria for Edge Runners include evidence that substantiates the model's success; its impact on clinical outcomes and financial outcomes; and evidence of improved access to care. The evidence provided by the nurse innovators suggests that their models are adding value to health care by improving health and impacting financial outcomes and satisfaction among individuals, families, communities, and providers.
