Report Summary
The Covid-19 pandemic and resultant ecological challenges have exposed higher education globally to new challenges. It is evident that digital delivery is a positive influence on learning across international borders. As such, we must emphasize and embrace education through a new lens of digital delivery compared to traditional classrooms. Higher education institutions have a responsibility to manage such societal challenges and provide sustainable education. Oslo Metropolitan University (OsloMet) and Dalhousie University (Dal) see this as a serious responsibility as well as an opportunity to enhance and expand on four years of successful collaboration and achievement and move into new viable arenas. OsloMet and Dal aim to take advantage of the current situation, transforming and optimizing educational offerings in radiography through multiple modes of digital delivery and curriculum design to develop international and collaborative skills among students and staff, becoming a leading knowledge supplier in radiography. To accomplish this goal and strengthen educational cooperation between the universities in Norway and Canada, multiple activities are planned. We aim to offer student mobility programs, experimental work at visiting institutions (joint access to research facilities and supervision), faculty visits to support teaching, guest lecture exchange, development of digital educational courses in Computed Tomography (CT) and Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), along with artificial intelligence programs to improve student support. Participating enterprises are Oslo University Hospital (OUH) and QEII in Halifax, Canada.Planned activities are:1- Development of new joint digital courses in CT and MRI2- Active lab experiments contributing to student research projects to meet current societal needs3- Artificial intelligence (AI) based student support and services4- Student/staff exchange with and without physical mobility with future pandemic needs in mind
