Description

This research will explore how to make changes in hospitals so that people with dementia get better nursing care. Being admitted to hospital can be upsetting and difficult for people with dementia. While there are many good ideas about how to improve hospital care, it can be hard to ensure changes are successful and last over time. Research question: What is it about the hospital that influences how nurses care for people with dementia? We will: • get a group of people together who are interested in this topic • review other research that has been done in this area • ask people with dementia and their caregivers about what it is like to be in the hospital • ask nurses and hospital leaders what they can do better What we find out can help hospital leaders make changes that will make it easier for people with dementia to be in hospital.
