Resumen

Spectral analysis techniques are used to determine the baroreflex sensitivity in children. Results were obtained for six children aged 2 to 12 years. The baroreflex sensitivity was found to range from 2. 9 to 34.4 ms/mm Hg. The technique uses normal respiratory variations in systolic blood pressure as the stimulus for creating variations in cardiac lengths and when used with noninvasive measurement of instantaneous blood pressure should enable the evaluation of baroreflex sensitivity in a wide range of ages and conditions.
