Resumen
Canadian capital markets have been among the most efficient and innovative in the world. While providing companies (both domestic and international) with capital, these markets face a major challenge in the future. The current regulatory structure poses a serious threat to the continued evolution and integration of the Canadian capital markets with both the NAFTA partners and the world in general. This paper examines the history of the Canadian capital markets and discusses the potential roadblocks the regulatory situation poses for future growth.
