Resumen

This is a comparison study of vitreous humor alcohol concentration (VHAC) and blood alcohol concentration (BAC). In forensic toxicology, a correlation between BAC and alcohol levels in other tissues/fluids is needed to establish a BAC when a suitable blood sample is unavailable. No readily agreed upon correlation exists. This study suggests that the correlation factor used should be based upon one's experience with such values from a given centre. Furthermore, this study was unable to duplicate the bimodal distribution reported by others.
