Resumen
Forty four patient with primary open agle glaucoma were selected consecutively as their IOP was above the values that would be desirable in function of the appearance of the optical disk and of the visual field. All the patients were in use of dorzolamida bid and timolol 0,5% bid at least for four months. The basal IOP was evaluated through diurnal tensional curves with IOP measurements taken at 8:30, 11:30, 14:30 and 18:00 hours. One drop of latanoprost was added to previous two drugs for seven days and another diurnal tension curve was done as the previous one. There was additional reduction of maximum, mean and minimum IOP of the diurnal tension curve of 17,1%, 16,0% and 17,0%, respectively. In 41,5%, the IOP reduction was higher than 20,0%, suggesting that this combination of drugs will have an important role in the treatment of the glaucoma and in the reduction of the its surgical indications.
