Resumen

Long-term follow-up of visual fields is necessary to estimate rates of change for individualpatients and tailor treatment accordingly. Distinguishing test-retest variability from true VF deterioration remains one of the prime challenges for the clinician. Computerized software such as GPA, PROGRESSOR and PeriData can aid the clinician in identifying progression. Future improved techniques for identifying visual field progression are likely to be based on individual, rather than population, estimates of test-retest variability.
