Resumen

The recovery of intact proteins from fixed silver stained gels on a wide molecular weight range and MALDI-MS in the presence of detergent was analyzed. Experiments were performed on protein standards of a wide molecular weight range. Electrophoresis was performed on freshly cast 0.75 mm thick, 12% polyacrylamide gels, using the Mini-Prorean system according to the method of Laemmli. Results on the recovery and MS analysis of intact gel-separated silver stained proteins were presented. The preliminary results on the MS analysis of silver stained proteins recovered from SDS gels were shown on the example of BSA.
