Resumen
Columns of suitably pretreated silk fibroin adsorb denatured DNA from 0.2 M MgCl2 solution, but allow unretarded passage of native DNA. Denatured DNA can be eluted from such columns with dilute phosphate buffer. These columns can be used to separate native and denatured DNA. The capacity of the columns is about 1 mg of denatured DNA per gram of fibroin.
