Session 8: Logistical considerations

Resumen

The challenges of EMS trauma care that emergency physicians face revolve around the role of the physician in the trauma care chain and the ability of the physician to effect changes in a system that may not meet the needs of the patient. Coupled with this is documentation of the influence of field care and transport systems on patient outcome. Data are accumulating that demonstrate the benefits of medically accountable ALS systems. Our future will be determined by our ability to prove what we do, change what does not work, and contribute to medical science and the trauma literature.
