Description
Stroke remains a leading cause of death and permanent disability in Canada, occurring on average every 10 minutes in Canada (www.canadianstrokenetwork.ca) and every 45 seconds in the USA (www.strokecenter.org). There are currently very few drug treatments available to treat stroke, and these drugs are only effective if administered around the time of the stroke event (
