General operating support for We Are Down Home, 2021-2022

This grant is for general operating support for We Are Down Home. The next year and half presents a tremendous opportunity for health policy change that moves us closer to the Foundation's Transforming Health and Health Care Systems (THHCS) policy vision. In response, THHCS is providing flexible support to advocacy organizations working on issues core to the policy vision-such as Medicaid expansion and pushing for equity in new policy proposals. In addition to adapting some of RWJF funding to existing policy-advocacy grantees and national intermediary networks (such as the People's Action Institute, Center for Popular Democracy, and Community Catalyst), THHCS is experimenting with providing flexible support directly to a handful of consumer-advocacy groups in key states experiencing a promising and urgent Medicaid policy opportunity. This is one of those grants.
