Improved decanting and oily waste management strategies for marine oil spill response

Mechanical oil spill recovery technologies can generate large volumes of oily waste. Researchers will focus on identifying technological barriers to separating oil from water as well as oily waste management. The results of the project will inform decision-makers to improve mechanical oil removal (decanting) and oily waste management strategies in Canada.
