Painful Procedures in the Emergency Department: Does a formal program in distracting techniques for parents and children reduce pain and anxiety in children

To study how and if a systematically employed program of distraction techniques will reduce pain and anxiety in venepunctures. The prime outcome will be the self-report of the child. It involves using a portable DVD player that will play a video that trains parents and children in distraction and coping techniques.
