Description

The Cannabinoid Research Initiative of Saskatchewan (CRIS) hosted its first symposium in August of 2018. The event was a forum to understand health care practitioner concerns and share cutting-edge cannabinoid research. The 2018 symposium was extremely successful. In 2019, CRIS will host its second annual symposium. Our goals are (1) to provide an opportunity for health care practitioners, caregivers, and patient groups to share knowledge, (2) to showcase excellent cannabinoid research, and (3) to bring together diverse perspectives to establish collaborative research in Saskatchewan. Trainee work will be highlighted through poster and platform presentations. Effective October 2018, Canada became the first G7 nation to legalize recreational and medicinal Cannabis. Therefore, our event is a critically important venue for the translation and dissemination of knowledge to researchers, clinicians, policy makers, and the public so that the evidence-base for Cannabis and cannabinoids can be communicated in an unbiased and critical way.
