Description

Summary : Qi Chen, Ph.D. will use pyrosequencing and Taqman technique to detect copy number variations (CNVs) in about 55 genes, which are 10 million base pairs around the linkage peak in the Irish Study of High Density Schizophrenia Families (ISHDSF). He also plans to test these validated CNVs associations with schizophrenia in the ISHDSF and the Irish Case Control Study of Schizophrenia (ICCSS). This work will demonstrate how gene CNVs are associated with the susceptibility to schizophrenia.
