The role of chemokines and chemokine receptors in the development of host response and immunopathogenesis during H5N1 influenza infections

Projet: Research project

Détails sur le projet

Description

Chemokines direct while cells to areas of infection. Influenza infections of the upper and lower rspiratory tracts result in migration of white cells to these areas. White cells then cause severe damage to surrounding tissues leading to a loss of ones ability to breath. Here we will investigate the possibility of preventing loss of lung function by blocking chemokine action.
