Résumé

Trachlight is a new lightwand device with many modifications and improvements, making its a versatile and flexible device for both oral and nasal intubation. It has been demonstrated to be an effective and safe intubating device in a large number of surgical patients. It is particularly useful when intubating patients with a history of difficult airways. It should not be used in patients with anatomic abnormalities of the upper airways, however. Although digital intubation is seldom the method of choice for intubation, it is a useful alternative that can be lifesaving in emergency situations. Success, however, is directly proportional to the intubator's preparation, experience, and skill.
