Résumé
Manual therapy is widespread and often applied as a method which eliminates pain in the cervical spine (and the lumbar spine). The large number of manual manipulations in use seems to propagate the harmlessness of these measures. However, sometimes incidents are reported; the estimated number of side effects is not known. Based upon personal experiences some possible side effects of manual therapy of the cervical spine are stressed from a neurological point of view as well as the necessity of precise knowledge, also of neurological contra-indications, about these manual manoeuvres.
