Résumé
Injuries to tendons about the foot and ankle are common in athletes, and most can be treated nonoperatively. Chronic tendinitis caused by chronic overload responds favorably to rehabilitation protocols that emphasize flexibility and strength training. Tendon injuries in areas of retarded or impaired circulation can be treated with techniques that emphasize debridement to aid revascularization. Complete acute and chronic tendon ruptures that lead to functional and anatomic disturbances are best treated with surgical procedures that emphasize restoration of anatomy and appropriate rehabilitation.
